This morning we hopped on a bus headed to Sandy Beach, with all of the kitecam equipment. The tour guide yesterday said it was good place to fly kites. It took about an hour to get there. Then we had to walk for about a half-hour, lugging all of our gear. When we finally got there, we found a beach with dozens of people swimming.
The lifeguard came right up to us, before we even dropped our stuff.
"I'm sorry, I'm going to have to ask that you not go in the water here. The waves are very strong, and it's only for expert swimmers."
I don't know what about us screamed "NOT EXPERT SWIMMERS." He was like the bouncer of the Pacific Ocean. "You can't come in here, but all of these other people are OK."
I told him we were just flying a kite, so he let us stay. We got some good pictures. I'll post them soon.
The lifeguard was right, though. The waves were insane.
