Ziplining!

We went ziplining yesterday!  The hardest part about it was convincing Nat to go.  But once she tried it, she had a great time!  We spent about an hour on six different ziplines, which were as high as 900 feet.
Unfortunately, we leave Hawaii today.  I'll still do a few more blog posts in the next day or two, with pictures from our snorkeling and scuba diving adventures.
  Gotta pack now!

Haleakala

I'm finally getting around to posting some pictures of our bike ride down Haleakala, a huge volcano that rises more than 10,000 feet.  A van picked us up at 2:30 AM so we could be at the top for sunrise.  We were above the clouds!  The view was amazing, but it was cold.  The tour guide actually gave us wind suits, jackets, and gloves.  After sunrise, we started the 25 mile bike ride down.  It was all downhill, so there wasn't any pedaling.. but we went MUCH faster than both of us expected.  Nat did some of the ride, then rode the rest of the way down in a van while the tour guide told her a bunch of stories about the area.  Meanwhile, I spent the next few hours thinking "almost died there...  almost died there... almost died there..."

Ktecam attempt #3: shut down by security

It looks like some famous people might be staying at The Four Seasons with us.  I put kitecam up and got some good shots of the hotel...  until a security guard put an end to it.  He asked me if there was a camera on the kite.  I said yes, and he said, "That's what I was afraid of.  We've had some concerns from guests about paparazzi.  I'm going to have to ask you to take it down."

A quick update

I just have a few minutes to post some more pictures.  We just got back from the massive breakfast buffet at the hotel.  It's full of fancy things like crabcake eggs benedict.  We ate A LOT.  And had bottomless mimosas.  Before that, we spent an hour rowing a traditional Hawaiian outrigger canoe, where we saw some giant sea turtles swim right up to us.
Yesterday, we went scuba diving!  The hotel has a free introductory program in the pool.  We both did that, and then I went out into the ocean for about an hour.  Nat would rather breathe on land, so she relaxed by the pool.  I should have some pictures of that tomorrow.
Last night, we flew the kite camera... unit it was SHUT DOWN by hotel security!  Pictures later...
And Sunday night, we went to the Old Lahaina Luau, for a big feast and huala dancing.
I'm also posting a few pictures of the visitors that we have every night on our balcony.  I think they're cool, but Nat's afraid of them.

Waimea Canyon

We drove to this yesterday.   It's the largest canyon in the Pacific.   A fun drive up a long,  very steep, very winding road.
